Lifeboat Cottage

A totally unique stay for two in Staithes in this former Victorian boathouse with commanding views across the harbour, a stone’s throw from the sea. This unusual and historic stone cottage exudes character, and has been sensitively restored into a boutique residence unlike any other. At Lifeboat you can wake up to the sound of the sea, relax over morning coffee or afternoon tea on the bench seat at the top of our steps looking up Cowbar Bank and Roxby Beck, and dine on our secluded sun terrace watching twilight and the sun go down. First floor (accessed by ten steep stone steps up to the front door) Open-plan sitting room with stone walls, original beamed ceiling and open fire in a traditional original Yorkish range. Contemporary kitchen with American-style fridge/freezer, electric cooker with grill and oven, four-slice toaster, microwave, plenty of crockery, pans, and utensils, and glassware. Dine inside, or outside overlooking the harbour on the decked patio garden with table and chairs. Bathroom - basin, loo and bath with shower attachment. Second floor Hear the whisper of the sea as you sleep in a super comfortable king-size bed in the panelled double bedroom, waking up to views across the harbour and Penny Nab. Adjoining dressing room overlooking the lifeboat shed and the harbour. Facilities 100% cotton bedding and towels. Hot water and heating via storage heaters / electric heater included in the price. Open fire. All floors are original boards, with Persian rugs. There's a free parking permit for parking outside the garage doors. Sky TV, superfast fibre optic broadband / wi-fi.
